Loading ...Kate Gosselin- love or hate her- has a certain something which makes you look. Even my mom knows who “Kate” is…& Mom’s idea of ’following reality shows’ is the one time she watched 2 minutes of Top Chef with me- because I hid her remote control.
Sarah Palin certainly has that same Make You Look quality. Yet, I am befuddled by her. Specifically how just mentioning her name is such a lightning rod. Shouting “Sarah Palin” is like shouting “Anne Coulter”, which used to be the equivalent of shouting “Fire” in a movie theatre. Everyone’s going to have an opinion~~~positive OR negative.
Today I have more QUESTIONS than answers regarding Sarah:

This was what the NOW gals of the 60’s and 70’s pictured: “I am woman! (cue the Helen Reddy background music) “I can do it all. I can have a family. I can be happily married. I can be a fierce career woman, too. Stand back.” (cue the Stevie Nicks). But when Sarah Palin was chosen as the Vice-Presidential candidate, the first thing one of my left leaning friends said: “Shouldn’t she be home if she has 5 kids?” Hmmmmmm……
When the 08′ Presidential Election started in earnest (somewhere around mid 2005), everyone was SICK AND TIRED of ‘the status quo’. Both sides agreed: ”They are all bums. We need someone from outside the beltway.” Can’t get much further than Wasilla, Alaska, can you?
Additionally, people wanted someone who would ‘walk the walk’. Whether you are Pro Gun… or Not, Pro Life… or Not, Pro Folksy Real World Speech… or Not, did she not ‘walk the walk’?
I remain confused.
People wanted someone who was ‘like them’, supposedly. Married her High School sweetheart, worked her way up starting with the PTA (you can’t even write a script like this), had a bunch of kids including one in the US military and a one with a handicap. She even has a few blemishes on her family. Sounds pretty dang real to me?….
Finally, there used to be an aspired-to ideal of a mother/ wife/ business person who was not only fun, smart, a good person, but attractive and confident,too— at any age.
And guess what…

Another one of my left-leaning friends finally copped to me: “She sounded dumb in the Couric interview. I don’t want that. I want someone smarter than me.”
Well, as for me, I’m thinkin’ someone with five kids who is looking that fab at 45 and happily married for 20+ years who just got an 11 million dollar book advance IS a tad smarter than me….. You could go ahead and make fun of my colloquialisms and clothing allowance ’scandal’ and scream about me being ‘objectified’ all day long.
By the way: Those are running clothes. She’s not naked. BabyDaddy Levi poses in Playgirl and, just my opinion, he has received kinder media scrutiny from the pop culture media, than Sarah this week.
I’m not saying I would– or wouldn’t– vote for her for POTUS next time. I’m saying the words “Sarah Palin” used as a synonym for ‘Evil’ are as ridiculous as “Levi Johnston” as a synonym for anything other than “Opportunistic Leech.”

Just my two cents…well AND Sarah Palin explained this recently. She appeared “dumb” in the interview because she was flustered and fed up with the Perky Ones ridiculous questions! She asked the same q’s 12 different ways (because she wasn’t satisfied with the answers) and Sarah had had enough I think. Too, I think Katie knew what she was doing and succeeded in making Sarah look “dumb”. Those tricky main-stream journalist;)
Amy – I’m sure they edited out all of the early rounds of those questions and left in only the ones in which Sarah was flustered and frustrated. I think the only reason the media is pounding relentlessly on Sarah is they are afraid of her! So, if they demonize her enough, she won’t stand a chance. I fully believe that if Ronald Reagan were alive and running again, they would demonize him mercilessly. And he was one of the best presidents we’ve ever had in this country. Have you seen pictures of The Great Obama bowing to the Japanese Emperor? Makes me sick! No other head of state does that.
Okay, whoever Robert is – I like this guy. Ronald Reagan was…well, there are no words that are good enough. He was the greatest.

I am so tired of people making fun of Sarah Palin. I am tired of questions not being answered by the “other” side. They ARE afraid of Palin. They have nothing to say about her other than making fun of her good looks and the way she talks.
And As for Obama bowing down to the Chinese…better get out your “Chinese for Dummies”.

aaaahhhhh, finally some sanity in a supremely insane world! you are all my new best friends! how can anyone look at what is going on in the US political environment and think it is right or even good??? thank you all for sharing your sane comments. maybe there is hope for america after all. maybe that hope rests on all of us brothers and sisters in
Christ, or rather the ONE we serve. He brings clarity in the current climate of chaos.
I’m torn on Sarah. I do think she has been given a raw deal in the media lately, but I don’t think she is in any way electable ever again.
I could sub Robert at Adoration. The name is the same; just different gender. After all, I am pretty sure that Jesus does not mind these small differences! As far as churches, OLL is not comparable to the Italian ones, but it serves the purpose.
Palin? Politics? We just simply need more heart energy out there. Pick up the pen, add a few curves, stretch your upper zone, cross your Ts high and keep your Cs clean and open. There you go! You are all set!
I think Sarah is about as annoying as it gets. Call it folksy talk if you want, but it’s makes me wince either way. It’s almost as annoying as that smirky nod she does right after one of her little pundit talking points. I do not think she is smart enough to be a Vice President, nor any other high level job taking care of the United States. I doubt her knowledge of history or geography, and see her as a divider. I think she lies, and turns things around like no other to fit her agenda, and that she insinuates better than any politician out there.
With that said, I do think she has her stuff together, and that she’s got a nice family, full of the flaws we all have in our families. Even if I disagree with her, I think she truly believes in what she says, and can’t fault someone for being passionate about their beliefs. I think the fact that her family loves her so much says more than anyone on the outside could. I don’t think smarts are what got her where she’s at, I think it’s her gusto. I don’t agree with most of her politics, but I do believe she’s received too much publicity lately, both positive and negative. I think she likes it though! As Madonna said, any publicity is good publicity! Ha ha.
